Makrinitsa - Pelion Greece
The village of Makrinitsa is one of the most famous and beautiful
villages in all of the Pelion peninsula. Often refered to as "The
Balcony of Pelion", due to the breathtaking views it has of Volos
and the Pagasitic Gulf, Makrinitsa is a destination for visitors from
all over the world.
Makrinitsa is situated just 16km from the city of Volos, but is
so peaceful and quiet, you could be forgiven for thinking it was
in a world of it's own.
The village is founded on the slope of Mount Pelion, where the
lowest part have an altitude of 350m, and the highest have an altitude
of 700m.
One of the main reasons of the popularity of Makrinitsa, besides the
stunning views, is the fact that the village has managed to preserve
over the years it's traditional
colours and style.
The village of Makrinitsa is one of the most popular in Pelion, and
is one that every visitor to the region should try and visit.
There are many paths along which you can enjoy peaceful walks surrounded
by nature and greenary, traditional mansions, tavernas and coffee
shops where you can sit back and relax with a drink or a meal.
Just before the main square of Makrinitsa is where you will find
"Arhontiko Theodora", which is a traditional mansion.
It is here that we are delighted to offer you a wonderful selection
of traditional and comfortable roooms for your holidays here in
Pelion.
As well as our traditional mansion and accommodation, we operate
a charming cafe bar called "Melodia", where you can
relax with a drink and admire the stunning views of Volos and
the Pagasitic Gulf and the amazing sunsets.
We also operate a gift shop, where we have a variety of gifts
and traditional Pelion products. Our shop is literally right next
to our cafe bar.
With Pelion being a popular destination for visitors all year
round, we are open 12 months a year. So whether you are visiting
Pelion for the sandy beaches in the summer, or the famous ski
